Can I use a Sky+ box as an ordinary satellite TV box until I fit it with twin aerial cables and a twin LNB?

A Sky+ box has two tuners, to allow you to watch one satellite TV channel whilst you record another satellite channel. As such, it needs two feeds from the satellite dish.
You can just use a single feed from the satellite dish LNB, but you should be aware that you won’t be able to watch one channel while recording another channel. Also scheduled recordings made using the Sky+ planner will be prone to fail, especially where there is a programming clash.
Contact Sky to get the Sky+ box installed correctly, or contact a local satellite TV installer and ask them to quote for running a second satellite feed from the dish’s LNB.
